I am so sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this issue, I have been completely slammed after the DAN! Conference and other commitments.
YES YES YES - Virus is one of the MAIN issues in our children, and YES this is what finally got me to the stage of Recovery. I tell mother's that for the past year and half we have been healing my son, now we are at the beginnings of recovery.
Zander, was diagnosed in April of 2006, he was non-verbal, banged his head/flapped his arms and had NO contact with anyone. He was addicted to Milk/Fish crackers ALL DAY LONG!
72hrs after Zander's diagnosed I found "Generation Rescue" and kept reading over and over again GF/CF diet. I would comment to my husband what type of supplement is a GF/CF? Finally after finding a man on Generation Rescue , I joined this man's group and he emailed me telling us what we need to start with my son, first thing - Gluten Free / Casin Free Diet, juicing, and some vitamins. That night I threw out all our foods in our home, and went cold turkey with my son/family.
After 3 days on this diet my son for the first time in 8 months responded to his name. You might ask yourself after reading that last sentence, what stopped him from responding.....CHICKEN POX SHOT! Yes, Vaccination distroyed our son's immune system. He used to sing/look into our eye's when taking pictures, but little vocabulary but it was there nonetheless. After 3 weeks of that shot my son lost everything.
Fast forward to Summer of 2007, we started our 3rd Antivial treatment, but this time through a Chinese doctor who gave us the LDM-100. Within 9 days my son broke out with dead measles/Rubella all over his body (I will attach pictures- lasted 6 days) 3 days on the LDM-100 Zander began to repeat words, and look into our eyes when we would ask him to do something. He began to follow multiple tasked (3-5 steps) with no redirection. After the 15th day, he began to say 3 word sentence.
In Sept of 2007, we ended the 3 month LDM-100 protocol and ended up with some Candidiasis issues, and began a HIGH dose Probiotic protocol along with Nystatin. 2 weeks on this treatment, Zander had a runny right nose. Think/dark brown to a greyish white color. On day 15 a plug came out of his nose (yeast) and he began to say words he never said before, and asking to go to different places, "Mommy - ToysRus for Lego's Please" it was amazing. Then on day 18 Zander had a HUGE die off Yeast explosion and that night began to follow regular night routine without fighting/melt down.
Since this, Zander is having very little melt downs, and if he gets upset I can talk to him and he comes out of this stage quickly. We are on vacation right now and he is acting like a typical child. People are amazed when I tell them he has autism.
So my son is NOT recovered as of yet, but on the path to recovery. He has come from Staring out the window, banging his head on ANY object, and Non verbal - to - Laughing/Singing/playing/pretend playing/talking/engaging in family activities/following multiple step task asked of him. We still have a road to go down, but like I tell people all the time - This is not a sprint but a Marathon.

Zander is 4 1/2 years old, and just today for the first time told his father / I - " I am Happy"
